Removing Shift Arm

Installing floor shifter. Do I drive out the the pin, is that all that holds the arm into the column. 72 Swinger

I dont know if you had seen this recent thread but I thought it VERY interesting as finding original proper columns for the floor shift conversions are getting expensive.
