My Dart will be getting a full drivers side quarter panel replacement in the future. Mt 67 Dart has the trim on the sides. Since the new quarter won't have the studs( I know they can be added) I have considered removing all the trim from the sides of the car. What is the best way to get rid of the trim mounting studs, will there be any holes once done to weld up?

Sooooo, I guess there are no paint and body experts here anymore.

Factory studs are welded on. All you should have to do is grind them down.

I have some of them on my 72 Satellite Sebring Plus that I just bought. One side of car has them and one side does not. The guy I bought it from was a paint and body shop owner. He said he removed them from one one side of the car that need work by grabbing ahold of them with big plyers and twisting them off and THEN grinding them down. He said to do this because grinding down alone causes heat and could warp the area causing more work to be done before primer and paint.
I AM NOT A BODY GUY...just passing along what he told me. The area one one side of the car looks good with no waves where he already removed the studs.
