Ok, time for the dumb question of the day. How do I get the dampner bolt off without the crank spinning? I could wedge something in the crank and use the impact, but would that screw something up? :tard:

usually you dont have to wedge something in the crank if you are using the impact gun...the impact gun should spin it right off...

I use a chain. Take the crank pulley off and hook up a chain to one of those pulley bolt holes. The other end of the chain gets hook to the frame. Then you can crank away. Works great to loosen or tighten

Oops, I guess I should have added that the engine is on a stand with the heads and pan off already.

Thanks for the answers. I like the wood idea.

and crap, I just noticed that I put this in the wrong section. I'll have to blame Canada Day celebrations :drinkers:
