Any tips on what I may need to know before I start? The guy I bought the seats from has steel channels on the inboard sides of the buckets to account for the bench not attaching to the floor in this area. Good idea? Also, are the nuts under the car welded in place and the bolts removed from above, or are the nuts removable from below? Thanks...

I was just wondering if I had the right bucket seats in my 72 (I think 67 - 76 are the same) duster now that Ihave them out for a 4spd swap. I was convinced that they were mounted in the wrong place it the floor because it didnt seem sturdy enough where the bolts go through. And there were holes in the floor on the ridges, apparently there for the bench seats. Anyway turns out I have the right seats, I just need to make sure I have the correct floor supports welded in.
Some threads that really helped me:

The "bolts" are attached to the seat track and protrude through the floor, with 1/2" washer nuts attached from the bottom. As well, there are usually some crude looking reinforcement panels welded on the inboard floor on top where the extra bucket seat bolts go through.

You will definitlly want to reinforce the floor where the buckets are to go.
I replaced the origenal studs with 5/16 ready rod and secured from under neath with lock nuts. Heres some pictures of how I covered the factory slots. I used 4 x4 square sheet metal and shimed to level where needed.
