Replacing The Center Link

When I convert a slant six center link to a V8 center link, will I need to change the idler arm too?
I haven't found one yet, and don't know if the idler arm drops down farther on the V8.

Just the center link. Idler needs no change.

1973 and up use a different idler and pitman and they do need to be matched.

I'm assuming the OP has an early A as that's what's in his little picture. In that case, the answer is no. The centerlinks for a slant 6 car and a V8 car are interchangeable in an early A. No difference in idler or pitman arm.
