I’ve spent some time trying to figure out what the deal is with my scamp.

Here is my build thread for reference
Scampin!!!!!!

So I’ve gotten to the point where I’m putting everything back together. It’s a 75 scamp. 340/4 speed/8.75 with drum brakes and factory discs up front. The car ran great always started up and stopped like it’s supposed to. Rear axles are sbp that were drilled out for bbp. I have the correct backing plates and drums have been redrilled to fit. While putting it all back together I did put new wheel cylinders in the back drums. New flex hose with block on the 8.75.

The car hasnt been driven in years. She sat in my garage while life got busy. Now since I took the rear out to strip the back half of the car down to bare metal and recoat it I had to crack the brake system open. Including the calipers up front. So when I hooked everything back up and re-bled the system I was able to get pedal. Not even 15 seconds after you get a firm pedal I let off the brake and go to hit the brakes again and it goes to the floor. Thinking that the car sat for so long maybe the master was no longer good. So I bought another brand new one. Bench bled it and threw it in. I ended up having the same problem. But you never know maybe I got a bad MC and the company i ordered from warranty exchanged it for another brand new one. So today I bench bled it (3rd one) again. Very very thoroughly. Throw it in and once again have the same problem. After I build pressure. Let it sit for 5 seconds and hit it again the pedal goes to the floor. I have a new prop valve on the way because I’m not sure what’s going on. But the car is defeating me and I’m gunna lose it if I can’t figure it out soon.

Thanks in advance for any help I appreciate it.

i know it's easy to get frustrated, but this is something basic. you've got a loose connection or a bad component somewheres.

you're either sucking air or pushing fluid. start with a visual check to make sure that nothing is wet and then systematically check the components from the rear to the front, including ALL connections.

you'll get this whipped man.

What happens if you smash the pedal hard and fast?

Drums in the rear? Maybe the shoes are too loose. The springs always return the shoes back into position, but for disks the pads remain close to the rotors - no springs to pull them back. So adjust the shoes with the star wheel so they're closer to the drums.

Make sure your calipers are on the correct sides. Bleeders at the top .
Excellent thought! Also another along the same lines. Is the master cylinder level when you are bleeding it? If it's not, you need to jack the car so that it is level or you'll never get all the air out of the end.

Yup there is the problem right there
