reverse issue

I have a 74 duster with a 4 speed and i am having some issues would appreciate any help. what it is doing is when i push the clutch in and put the car in reverse it has a noise almost like a starter running noise. it doesnt stop doing it. the car still moves but i do not drive it now due to this. the noise is only when in reverse. any pointers on what this is thank you

ok here is an update. after some time to check things over it is the starter in fact running when i engage reverse. any pointers about how this is happening. thanks
