reverse light switch adjustment?

Is there an adjustment for the reverse light switch on a 4spd? It screws in but whatever is supposed to hit the ball on the end of the switch to ground the circuit isn't hitting the switch. I can manually work it so I know the issue is in the trans.

Either the switch is bad or the detent in the trans is missing or bad. The detent should be metal so likely it is fine.

nothing seems to be hitting the end of the switch. Im thinking maybe missing??
