Weird situation (for me)- reinstalled my factory floor shift auto set-up along with a new neutral safety switch in my Duster. Car starts fine in Park and goes into all gears as it should. However, the reverse lights only come on when the shifter bumps up against the neutral/reverse “gate”. Once the button is pushed and the shifter moves into reverse the lights go off…

What am I missing here? I’m assuming something is misadjusted but don’t know what- if anything the body of the console could stand to move forward a small amount but that wouldn’t effect the actual shifter position.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you

like RRR said.....if light is going on before its in the detent....shorten it.....weather the rev sw is on the shifter link..or in the trans..its the same..your out of time...

The console position can affect the shifter position(mainly park and 1st).
I have had to adjust our linkage a few times, and am now removing the 904. Make sure everything is loose and try re-setting everything starting from the reverse position. Car OFF obviously. Key on, loosen linkage, put in reverse on trans see if reverse lights come on.
