I have a 68 coupe cuda i'm building a nice 360 magnum for.Not a ground pounder somewhere around 300 horse.I am wondering which transmission to get.Tremec or richmond 5 speed. The car is just a street car built for cruzing only not a drag car.I was wondering if they will both fit without having to modify the transmission tunnel.Let me know what you guys think, positive or negitive. Thanks Ronnie

As one noobie to another, try the 4 spd section of the forum. :-D

Tremec has internal shift rails, so gonna be an easier fit. Quicktime inc has a nice bellhousing for the application

The Tremec from Keisler will fit without major mods because they modify the tranny to fit. Classic Mopar 5 speed does not modify the tranny and requires that the stock trans crossmember be cut and you install their trans crossmember. Looks like it will interfere with tucking exhaust pipes close to the floor pans though. The Richmond will require MAJOR mods because it's so much physically larger and it has external shift rods. I considered the Richmond because of it's racing heritage but think I'll go with the Tremec. Seems like the Richmond will require way too much much cutting of the torsion bar frame mounting point. There's a member here who made the Richmond swap. Go to classic mopar 5 speed website to see an install on a '70 Dart.
