Thinking about American torque thrust rim 15x8 14x7 front they are the VN615 any one know if there junk or are good,no doubt they are off shore.I shelled out 350 for 245 60 14 for the rear on the 71 and do not like the look, still a ton of wheel well space to fill.so 15x8 with 275 60 15 will be the ticket.any thoughts.

go 16 or 17's all the way around tons more tire choices you won't regret it

Don, 15x8 with 275/60/15 tires on rear and 15x7 with 245/60/15 tires on the front will fill your wheel wells on your 71. Check this car out, it has the rims and tires I mentioned above.

15 are in my price range

I wonder if the price difference isn't a big as you're thinking.

Keep in mind that the production numbers for 15" tires is going down by the day. It's mostly just us fools who drive decrepit old geezermobiles who still want them...or it's 1990s era compact/tuner crowd who use much shorter outer diameter tires. The result is that ~60 series 15" tires are scarce, obsolete (no development since the 1990s) and not as cheap as they once were.

Last year, against the recommendations of some smart folks, I went the 15" route out of a sense of classic car purity. I do prefer the look but in the end, I spent a lot of money on poor performing BFG Radial T/As that would never put any real horsepower to the ground and would howl for mercy long before approaching a lateral G in the turns.

The BFGs also shriek when I spin them in a way that gets a lot of attention which is embarrassing. Modern tires with performance compounds seem to not have that problem. :D

All I can say is to give them a shot. Plenty of guys have their Mopars rolling on 17s that look damn good...and not out of proportion. With a B-Body, you'd be in even better shape, IMO.

Ask @72bluNblu about his Challenger's 17" Legends wheels. IMO, they're spot-on.

Is this for that '71 RoadRunner?

Because if it is you could probably put 295/50/15's on 15x10's on all 4 corners and still have room. I slung the 17x9's with 275/40/17's I had on my Challenger on my '71 Satellite just to check the fit and still there was still plenty of room everywhere. As in, inches of extra space. It would be a piece of cake in the back, the width would be fine in the front but the height is getting pretty tall.

You could literally run 15x10's with 5.5" of backspace front and rear. Front might need a small spacer, but probably not. With the stock 10.95" BBP disk brakes up front and the stock '71 B body 8.25" in the back with the stock spring locations I figured you could run a 10" wide wheel up front with a 5" to 5.5" backspace depending on your tire choice, and a 10" wide wheel in the back with a 5.5" to 6" backspace. 15x8's up front would be a piece of cake, the biggest problem would be finding a nice wide tire that wasn't too tall. That's why going to a larger diameter rim is nice, because you can get 255's and 275's in a height close to 26". Even on the 71 B's I don't think you'd get away with a 27" tall front tire unless the ride height was super high. Because of the tire choice you basically have to either run a 245/60/15 up front or a 295/50/15 to get the height in the ball park. Or smaller go narrower than a 245/60/15, but anything smaller than that is gonna look tiny on those cavernous '71 B body wheel wells.
