Ok guys unfornuntly I fight the battle of fenderwell headers on my 69 dart.
Heres the deal car is street strip. but wont be hitting the strip more then a few times a year if that.
Right now i run the following.
Rear rim is centerline 15" by 8 or so small bolt pattern
Tire is m.t. street radial p275/60R15

Front rim is centerline big bolt pattern 15" x
tire is 165 r15 86t

Now heres my problem my wheelwells do have the hemi cut... so those tires do barley fit but on the street even with an empty car they do rub a little. but just for the track the rear would be ok i belive.
The front i have my torsion bars jacked up just to make up for the rubbing and the car has lost all weight transfer so i need to get them back down but then they will rub.

I was thinking of getting a cheap set of steel wheels for the street
front would be 14" with maby 5 inch with smaller tires then now to clear the headers for the street and then rear would be 15" as wide as i can get from stock rim and put some decent street tire on it i suppose.

I do like the look of black steel wheels on a dart expecilly with candy red paint.... But the other thing i suppose is that with the lowered ride hight the front centerline strip rim and tire wont fit even just for the track.... unless i go smaller front tire for the strip too for the track only.

what would you do.?

i would get rid of the fenderwell headers! You can modify some b body headers to fit, nomatter what anyone tell you.Ive done it,on a 73 duster with a 440,powersteering,and auto on the column.Of course they fit better with manual steering, but either way,it can be done.Get you some cheap summit 1-7/8 b body headers and hammer away at them.Youll think me and yourself later on.

oh yah haha forgot to mention that doing away with the headers is not an option! unfornunatly its been out of the question for me,i do really like the look of the headers and the hemi dart look so i wont be doing away with them
i have fought this battle for days and helped others too with it but im just not great with tire size. i love the true nostalgia stuff and theress nothing like the look and sound of the hooker fenderwells and beond that the cutting and everything has already been done to the body and everything so instead of spening alot of money (which is not possible) on headers and also repairing the inner fenderwells i would rather buy tires...

Would be nice to have a track set and a street set. i was thinking of keeping my current setup but going smaller front tire and then get a nice street friendly set of steel wheels black and go 15"wide rear and 14"skinny front.. for cornering and potholes when it effects the headers.
