RIP: James Lovell aka Jim Lovell

-
Thank you Jim!! We will not see your like again.

James Arthur Lovell Jr. was an American astronaut, naval aviator, test pilot and mechanical engineer. In 1968, as command module pilot of Apollo 8, he became, with Frank Borman and William Anders, one of the first three astronauts to fly to and orbit the Moon.

He was a great man. It's too bad his son tried to live off his legacy and wasnt too great of a person in my personal experience. I met Mr Jim Lovell a few times and he was always a great guy to me. God bless him

"my corpse might wind up orbiting the moon forever, and you want to me to do this mission on Christmas?"

And never once hesitated.
