Hey guys, I think now its about time to start a thread about the car that got me going into the mopar group, my 65 Dart. I bought it when I was 15 for 1300 bucks and sold the 67 date coded 440 that the guy before me was going to stuff in for 500 bucks, so for 800 bucks, this is what I started out with.

First thing I did when I got it was started work on the brakes. All new 9 inch (owh noo) drums and shoes all around and freshening up the slant a bit to get it running again. Then some nicer wheels and tires would wake the looks of it up a bit.

After that, my front wheels came off while on my way back from a cruise up my neighborhood.. Yeah, discount tire gave me the wrong lugnuts.. It wasnt all bad though, by now I found out how crappy the 9 inch drums stopped and I swapped them in favor of a kit from ECI (I think?) bbp disks up front.

Next step was body work. I took it to a freinds shop to have the car straightened out and primered. This took a year and a half. And unfortunately the passenger side fender was too gone to save.

After that, 3 years passed and I really wanted to just drive the damn thing. So I started blocking and got the car to look pretty descent. Around this time I met a guy at a local car show with the most beautiful 66 Dart Gt Convertible by the name of Harold, and he decided to help me out and get the car road worthy again.

Harold bought a few cars to restore and sell about this point. A 63 Dart Gt convt, 64 Dart Gt convt, 65 Dart Gt convt, another 65 Dart Gt Coupe, and my favorite, his 66 Dart 270 wagon. The 64 was the first on the list, so we stripped it down to the shell and took it down to be painted the original 2 tone powder blue/metallic blue. We then took my Dart to his place and started getting the dash sorted.. And a different windshield.

We found out pretty quickly that the front suspension needed a lot of help.. So I bought the full polyurethane kit from Performance Suspension and just finished installing it yesterday.
