rod and main bearing cap

when installing caps do the notches in bearing cap and rod go on opposite sides, not top and bottom? thanks

The notches that mate with the bearing tang go on the same side. One notch/tang keeps it from spinning one way way, one notch/tang keeps it from spinning the other way.
