Hello Everyone, i'm rebuilding a 360 for my 89 d100 and i'm contemplating aluminum heads and i know the rod length will be different from the factory heads. I've seen the procedure for rocker stud engines but can't find anything for shaft engines. Is it the same since there isn't anything out there or is there a different procedure? Thanks in advance.

Use the search feature and type in "measuring pushrod length". You'll get a plethora of information to read through. The small block and big block mopar engine series use shaft mounted rockers.

PUSH rods, not "rods." Rods are those things that stick through the sides of the block and pan after missing a shift

LOLOL

I was sitting here trying to figure out ??

Measure pushrod length with a checking rod.
Cam on base circle using the lifters you will run.
Measure intake and exhaust.
I would measure with the adjuster in your pushrod showing zero threads.
Measure cylinders 1,2,6,7.

Find a pushrod that will work. Check with the pushrod manufacturer you are looking at about how they measure their length. I like the way smith bros measures.
