I have been searching for the ideal camshaft for my Magnum 390ci stroked 5.2L build. I am still undecided as to which would be the best for Sniper efi with power brakes, A/C with 2800+/- stall converter, 46rh 4.10 28-29" tire in a gen 1 dakota 2wd.

I started complying a spreadsheet comparing most of the hydraulic rollers and Solid rollers I have found and thought it could help others. ( some might be retro LA cams and some might be Magnum cams, but atleast you can order the other type with the profile you like). I know it's not showing custom manufacturers like Oregan or Bullet, but atleast it give you guys some ideas.

I pretty much have them in size/powerband rpm range order. I also added columns for lift at the valve with 1.5 and 1.6 rocker arms. I also calculated overlap at advertised and 0.050 valve lift to compare idle quality/CHOP. The last columns are some of the descriptions of what the Manufacturer describes the cam and the recommended addition parts.

Most brands and Camshaft series are color coded for easy find of the next cma up/down in their line up.
The Light blue section is the cams that are .575" of valve lift or MORE with the 1.6RR for those trying to make out heads like the TFS ones I ordered.

I hope this will help others trying to choose an cam and to compare/see what most of the big cam companies are offering.

I have one of those transmissions also and havent seen much out there for converters
There are Non-lockup converters from other manufacturers but I want a Lockup. www.smrtrans.com is another brand.
Cope does alot of A518 swaps for Mopars and has Converters. https://www.coperacingtrans.com/?product=10-727-518-lock-up-torque-converter
Hughes product chart. Performance Converters - Hughes Performance
TCI says they have one that is 2,400<2,600rpm stall. https://www.tciauto.com/breakaway-c...fVyyAmjWkZcGkkOhRO7YuXMTmQwB1JnU72-y8cfOvcCmO
Boss Hog is still listed as available on Summit racing, Torque Converters - Lockup Compatible - A518 (46RH) Transmission Manufacturer Code - Free Shipping on Orders Over $109 at Summit Racing

Please let me know if there is an problems viewing the spreadsheet. If you have any questions / recommendations just let me know.

I hope it helps with anyone interested in picking a cam for their build or thinking about upgrading their camshafts.

What makes you think a spread sheet with a bunch of off the shelf grinds will have what you need?
I actually don't think ANY of them will do what I want.

I just wanted to make it easier and help out those that don't have, as specific of requirements. For those that don't want to wait for a custom grind and just want to see what is currently offered.

Hey there Dakota brother. I have a very similar setup to you. 390 stroker LA based. Bullet cam spec'd me out a 254/264 .626 solid roller. (1.5 ratio rockers)

254/264? that's @0.020" lift, correct? It's hard for me to wrap my head around how big that is compared to hydraulics rollers( which I'm use to).

Still sounds pretty massive and way beyond what I think, would work for me.

What I have noticed is 99% of guys have either "Big/ Carburated/ manual brake setups", while Dakota/Ram guys usually have " TINY 206<210@0.050" lift efi/ emissions/ power brake" cams.

I'm trying to find the max thar can still be daily driven/ in traffic. Also, a light A body has a way different requirement than a pickup that can see some payload. ( Not towing).

There is nobody on the truck forum, so I am here getting some ideas. A True 50/50 car setup would be closee to what I am looking for. If it can't run Power brakes... it's more of a 75+%/25 Street car setup IMO.

I'm not looking for something that is "Weekend or Good weather Only".

DAMN !!!! That is a Serious cam. Are you even able to run on pump gas?

Are you running 360-1 heads and victor intake? Running a dana 60, ford 9" or 8-3/4?

Zoomed in on your picture, great condition, NICE.
