I believe this 36" long slice of fiberboard was placed between the middle/center cross-brace in the ceiling/roof and the roof. Probably was placed to eliminate any chance of rattles. Keep in mind, this is 2 1/2 years ago that it was pulled out of somewhere on the 1965 Formula S, so I stand corrected if this is in error.
