Rosie the Riveter on Good Morning America.

My Aunt (or my mom's aunt more specifically) was at the White House to meet the President and Vice-President.

She worked building ships for the war effort in WWII.

When you click the link it will take you to a video. In the still shot on the page, she is the 2nd from the left (dark gray curly hair).

Her name is Pat Elder.

In the bottom pic, she is in the center. Her husband Don, served in the Navy while she was building ships at home.

Wow, THAT is AWESOME! I don't care what your politics are ( Not you specifically ;) ) . It is an honor to meet the President and Vice President. Congrats to her for such a long life, and a great contribution to the war effort.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes that is quite an honor! Looks like she enjoyed meeting the President!

I really enjoyed the ladies in the video.

We would not be sitting here today if not for what they did.

I am glad they realized their dream.

And thank you for posting this.
I’ll put my political cynicism on the shelf, just be grateful to this part of the greatest generation and be happy that they were finally recognized in a public way.
No matter what the motivation.

Totally cool man. Thanks for sharing.
