I have a 66 valiant with a slanty six,,how to tell if its #'s matching is there a # on the block to match the VIN OR NO??

They did not have matching numbers in the early cars, 67 and later

They did not start stamping vin on blocks or trans until 68. Up until 68 you used casting numbers and build dates, block casting around 3-4 months and assembly date can be 3 to 6 weeks (avg) to sometimes days (demand) prior to body SO build date. These are guides. The answer to your question is NO.
