Well ,,i just got a quote for parts i wanted off a 74 duster ,to use in my 72 dart. The local salvage yard quoted me $250.00 for a dash pad, guage cluster ,,radio heater trim ,,and stock radio...SO i promptly said ,,no thanks and have a good day.It really bites...we have only a couple salvage yards up here ,,and all of them except 1 or 2 only keep vehicles from 1990 and newer. On top of that there really isnt a big supply of darts just sitting around in peoples yards.DAM...So I guess Im stuck buying from out of state and paying outrageous shipping....Any ideas???? It was bad enough that I had to pay $1500.00 ,just to ship the car up on the boat.It kinda bums me out a bit,,,but ill keep trying to find parts.anyways ,,sorry for the RANT........

If that stuff is in decent condition, $250 isn't really out of line, especially if the dash pad doesn't have anything wrong with it.

It would be kind of hard to find a good dash pad here to for a 72 dart.
Or even a 74. and if I did, it would be at lest 250 if they would sell it and separate it
from a car.
How much more time and gas would you spend trying to find another one.
And I live here in arkansas.
Heck a good pair of tire's mounted and balanced and dinner would cost that much.

Thats a good price, even if you have to pull it. If they pull it for you, consider that a big bonus. I guarantee you will not get one shipped way up there any cheaper than that. Heck, shipping alone for dash pad with those parts will be close half of that price. Also you never know what you may be buying either.
As already stated a nice parts will bring at least $250.00 on a bad day. Dash pad is worth $150.00, cluster $75.00, woodgrain panels $50.00/each, Radio $50...

I got lucky and found a nice fully loaded Plymouth Valiant 4-door with most everything I needed for my Dart Sport (complete mint deluxe woodgrain dash, A/C system, small trim) for only $150.00. Mint hood/deck lid also if anyone needs one. Keep in mind "deals" are few and far between and getting harder to find on these cars/parts, even though A-bodies are still about the cheapest Mopars going.
The old man that told me about the four door has a whole back yard full of A & F bodied Mopars. He gave my several disc brake set-ups (including a Kelsey-Hayes 4-piston set-up), a tuff wheel with column adaptor and horn button (pulled from a Volare), and all the trim I could ever want.

Anyways keep looking/asking around.

Welcome to the Mopar world, just be glad you are not restoring a 1971 'Cuda. A rallye dash just sold for $3500.00 on eBay a couple days ago. A day or two later a rallye gauge cluster sold for $2,605.00!! Dont even want to think about buying body panels for a 'Cuda lol.

I agree,$250 is not bad at all.I would buy it if I were you before someone else takes them.then you may regret thinking twice about not buying them.If the dash pad is in good shape(no cracks, etc)its well worth it.

The horse is down and gasping for its last breath....

$250 is a good price for all that! I paid $200 for an AM/FM radio and mint radio/heater bezel.

i for one really don`t get it! anyone who ones one of these cars OBVIOUSLY wants one (or wouldn`t have one) and to pay $1500. to have one delivered...
i mean isn`t your car worth making nice? have u paid attention how much nice ones cost? did you think you could buy a roach and make it mint for free?
well call this MY rant, because i`m getting pretty tired of low-rent tire kickers (regarding my Dart Swinger 4 sale) ...i guess some of these guys read a Car Craft article and then they think they`re gonna go out and score (steal) an original, mint, rust free 340 coupe with rare options for $250.
well good luck!
i have my Dart for sale asking $2200. ...a while back i offered it for as little as $1500. but i know its worth 22 and i have more than that in it.
i took a bunch of pictures of the underside, etc when it was getting its new gas tank the other day (now that was a find, $50. for a very good used tank from another local enthusiast)
...well, i had never looked that close under my car and hadn`t seen how good shape its really in even tho topside it looks kinda crummy, but now with the new tank installed its drivable so i think i will...and i think i`ll go ahead and paint it! then i`ll raise the price accordingly and i really don`t care if i EVER sell it!
i`m thinking of putting a 2.2 turbo motor in it!
yes it will nickel and dime me cause it too needs a dashpad, headliner, etc, etc...
maybe someday i`ll get those parts for it and i`d love to find a steal...err, a "deal" too, but $250. for all that stuff? ...well you ain` too proud ta B#TCH are ya?
caveat emptor (and) illigitimi non carborundum!
