hey ,i wanted to ask what kind of paint is used for the "satin black" or matte finish on the hoods of like 340 Dusters, etc.I know I dont want to use primer,or rattle can.I found some stuff from Eastwood called Hot Rod Black. What other brands are there that anyone can suggest?

You can still get a modern formulation of Organisol Black from a PPG dealer. It's a single stage. The code is DCC 9355 and will run about $100 for the paint (enough for a hood), hardener, and reducer.

DCC 9355 is the "NEW" single stage version of the original Organosol PPG DDL 9355 which is a "textured" laquer finish. the new version of PPG organosol compared to the original version is more like "trim black" it has too much sheen and is far too smooth and does not look even close to the original, side by side
Organosol black (textured black used on hoods, tail panels etc.) which was DDL 9355 ... Good luck finding it, it is rare and most PPG dealers dont know the number because it has been superseded by the single stage AND if you are able to actually LOCATE it get ready for some sticker shock..... due to EPA the textured laquer version is off the hook expensive....but if you are going for ORIGINAL look that is the stuff....

there is also another source.....www.rogergibsonautorestoration.com last I looked the prices are as follow but contacting them would be a better idea...
ORGP/ORGQ Organosol - authentic black textured finish for hoods, tail panels…………
Qt $145.00
**ONCE AGAIN AVAILABLE*** Pint $80.00

I actually prefer ,the textured black OEM look here. It's all ,personal taste.

You might try checking with totallyautoinc.com. They are Mopar resto specialists. Best of luck with your search:coffee2:
