I admit to have done mostly BB for decades, then got to mainly playing with slants. BUT..... car in question is this 76 F body roadrunner, original 318 AC car, I ditched the AC and trying to get my belts and pulleys working. I have the OEM 3 groove crank pullet ( car has PS), I have a non AC SB water pump pulley, it does not line up with the crank pulley grooves. I assume there is a NON AC SB crank pulley that is different than the AC crank pulley!!???
I remember seeing years ago a shallow 2 groove water pump pulley, AC deal I guess, but maybe it was for a BB???

Looks like I can run a belt to PS and crank,... and then the water pump to crank and to alt. with the original water pump AC pulley. Just wondering!!!!

What I am asking , is the non AC crank pulley ( 1 or 2 groove) different height than an AC 3 groove pulley. A non AC water pump pulley does not line up with my 3 grove crank pulley.

69 non AC
Alt PS crank waterpump

Crank 6.5"
Waterpump 6.5"
PS 6"

empty grove is for the PS

Thanks for the info. Years past I had a big box of pulleys and used them all up!

Another oddity??? The 273 used a "straight" sided water pump pulley rather than the conventional "slanted" side ones termed as non AC SB pulley??? Maybe the same a BB??

for a 70-up car here is what you need...

use the pics and measurements for reference....

Yes a aluminum water pump, once I got that top pulley I got it all to work, I had to run the belt from water pump to crank to alt to fit, and the ps to crank, otherwise the crank pulley would not fit. I just measured OD for the belts. Thanks for the help.
Seems like their is a different in crank pulleys, BB to SB? maybe the PO installed a different crank pulley? I did a couple LA motors from scratch a couple years back and did not have this delima.
