If he got hacked, how do you know it was him logged in yesterday?

As far as heading here first, If I was legit, and saw this thread and how it started out, I'd fricking pissed off. Defending myself would probably be the first step as potentially defamatory as this started out as.
Right. That's why I'm more apt to give the dude a chance to step up. He's already made a start.

You make a good point. I will try and talk to him then.

There are definitely lessons to be learned here..

A big one would be to learn a better way to start an investigation.

"Hey guys, I made a deal with a person on this site and sent money. He hasn't responded for 4 days. Had anyone heard form user X?" I'm getting a bit concerned I might have been scammed, any help would be appreciated."

If you're using zelle, you might want to copy/paste that for later.

Not to fan any flames but I'm curious about the access IP addresses used by the "accused" over the last couple of weeks versus this morning. Doesn't "prove" anything, especially if the hacking was real and was/is a room mate or similar situation.

I do admit I was a bit blinded by anger when starting the thread. Lessons learned for sure.

Hey thanks! All I am looking to do is get rid of the bulk shock mounted front bumper for a standard mount 1973 bumper. IMPOSSIBLE to find it seems.
I think it's impossible to find, because they were mandated in 73. I don't think there are any non shock numbers for 73 and up. I could be wrong.

You may have need for the anger. I hope not. But I can tell you this. Your continuing to pound on the guy ain't helping. But that still doesn't mean he shouldn't do the right thing. I hope yall get it worked out.

They were mandated in 74. I have done tons of research. When the model year 1974 started, it was actually a guessing game if you car had them or not. My car has mounting provisions for both non-shock and shock mounted bumpers.

Ok cool. Thanks. Then maybe you can find some. That said, there have been lots of people who've modded those numbers and tucked them in nice. Maybe you could do that if you can't find some.

I generally never post in a scammer thread, but I'll respond to the dates and tell you not all '74's had the shock absorber bumpers either. A short time ago I sold a '74 Duster that did NOT have the shock absorber bumper in the front, but did in the back. Factory. It also still had the small bolt pattern and drum brakes all the way around. And you are correct, I've never seen a '73 A-body with the shock absorber mounts (but that don't mean they didn't exist).

I can also say the '73 brackets won't just "bolt up" to the shock absorber factory holes. Some mods will have to be done. What I ended up doing was gutting the shock absorber mount, moved the bumper back about 1 inch through that process. Results were the '73 look and loss of weight. I had already cut the brace behind the bumper out. Impact bumper is the correct term I think... lol

Frankly I look at the person's profile before purchasing. They need to have been a member for well over a year, prefer two plus years and there are feedback scores, I like to see some positives there.

Your inbox is full. I am incredibly interested if you have one. How would I set something up like that?
@MOPARMAGA can you help?

I don't want to delete any of my thousands of messages and I don't want to upgrade my membership to free up more although I might later today when I get home. lol

Message @74GreenScamp and give him my contact info so he can get in touch with me.

Thanks, Bill

The number of people saying "oh give him a chance" is a little frightening

No wonder the scammers love it here. You can rip someone off and half the forum will give you the benefit of the doubt.

The other half wants to show up with pitchforks

Bill, you can leave messages then hit the navigation button to go back and read or rejoin them. I have 15 pages of deleted / left messages. You just need room in your inbox to rejoin the deleted ones.

I had a feeling he wasn't a scammer due to him being part of the community and welcoming people. But I just haven't heard from him and I 99% sure I got scammed.
I made the same mistake when I bought my '75 Duster off the Mopars for sale on this site. Guy (Wannadrag) had lots of posts so I figured he was trustworthy, wrong. Here's the conversation: https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/direct-messages/75-duster.318407/#convMessage-1242312
I paid for a 360/727 car and got a 318/904 delivered. Plenty of text/email traffic until I took delivery and tried to contact him, then a ghost. Long gone from this website. Consider yourself lucky you "only" lost $300. I figure I overpaid ~$2k, based on what I was supposed to be buying. There are some great people on this site and I've bought stuff without problems. Buying stuff from people with a lot of posts isn't necessarily a safe strategy, as my example shows. Just have to be as careful as you can.

I can and will as well Bill.
