Hey guys,
I need to replace my 72 Scamp's dash speaker and the only way I can do this is buy a 1966-71 replacement speaker and then locate a mounting plate from a 1966-1971 A body (or from a 1968-1970 B body, which used the same part). The 1972 speaker is integral with the plate, and I have not been able to locate one of these anywhere, so it looks like I will have to go with the 66-71 speaker, and scavenge for the mounting plate. I am hoping to maintain my original dash configuration and hook up a Redi-Rad to it so I can play my iPod through the car's original Am/mono setup for that 1970s sound.
Hoping one of y'all who have a parts car or two around, or who have gone the modern stereo upgrade route might have an extra speaker mounting plate available. If so, please drop me a line --
Thanks,
Jeff in Baltimore
