Semi Locked 318

I can turn it over by hand alittle bit each way then clunks and wont roll over any more. I was at about 3000 Rpm getting onto the highway. Car just went poof(like a no ignition air pump sound . wheels didn't lock up ether. no smoke, no loud metal on metal. Could it be a broken crank shaft. Man its been along night

It's certainly something it sounds like. Broken rod, piston or crank perhaps. Surely doesn't sound good. Try removing the trans dust cover and see if the rear turns with the balancer.

Looks like a pretty stock 318 but had a nice lope to it. hydro purple shaft. was hoping some one else has a clue. I am young and dumb. Ether way I have a 340 to put together for next year (by the book first time) Valve dropped at the 2nd (towards cylinder) keeper.
