Sending unit upgrade

Hi all,

Has anyone had luck with replacing the OE fuel sending unit with a new version that does not disrupt the dash gauge?

I tried one a few years back and my fuel gauge was not accurate anymore. Anyways looking at a 3/8" unit but any input would be appreciated.

your original is best...they don't fail and are calibrated correctly
