Hello, I just bought some new pivot shafts for my car. PST shipped the poly bushings already installed in the outer shell.

Does anyone know of a way to remove these? I played around a little bit and these are in there very very tight. I have concerns about destroying the bushings before install

thanks any help would be greatly appreciated

Can't you just remove the outer shell from your LCA? There's some easy ways to do that.

My Proforge set came this way. I think I put a large screwdriver in the small end and hammered them out. As in let the handle push the not the screw driver end.

Yes, my buddy removed that stock shell ( during previous work before my time, somebody used the pivot shafts to hammer on - guessing to hammer out the lca with out removing the tbar)

The LCAs are cleaned up with plates welded on - and powder coated. this is the last step before I can start putting the car back together

It was a PITA but the bushing have been removed and work done

My buddy has a lot of tools, he must be a TV repairman. We held the shell and hit with cone shaped mallet to get the bushing started. Than used a socket and a 3 pound hammer to push the bushing the rest of the way out. Bushing and shell showed no ill wear

After that, pressed in the shell, pressed in the bushing and pressed in the pivot shaft.

Now, I can start putting the car back together.
