Those that are running SFI's of any brand are you having to modify the timing cover to make them work?

Thanks in advance.

I'm running a Romac SFI balancer on my LA 360/408 & I'll be running the same one on my new LA 360/416. Good balancer, reasonable price.

I think the one on my 408 was a Romac and the one on my 434 is a Innovators West. Never had to do anything to the cover.

Thanks guys there was a post elsewhere....where guy showed a video of someone modifying their timing cover so it would work....I'm sure my opinion isn't worth typing. But...you guys have confirmed what I thought about there being plenty of options out there to not have to do that.

Thanks again for everybodies time.

Both dampers that I have had to have the ID honed to get the correct fit. But as mentioned no interference with the timing cover.

I painted mine black & then painted the timing mark area white & lightly sanded off the white to see the numbers & then clear coated it. But then again, mine is on a race car where I can take the glass hood & front clip off which makes things much easier.

Romac has an (SA ) alloy cover option .

I believe if you get a big block balancer installed on a small block, it will interfere quite a bit with the cast-in timing cover tab.

Personally, I've used Pioneer SFI balancers on my small blocks for many years with no problems. I believe Summit and/or Jegs may have/had them under their labels. Not sure on the current status.
