Shafers model car thread

I don't have the skill/patience for that, but I wish I had 2 1962 Valiant 2 door models. 1 to look like my car now and one to look like I want it to end up. Do they even make 62s?

i m not finding a 62 your best bet will be to search for an old promo

Finally , i have been cleaning the garage , found some more models i built,
the pinewwod derby car was built some 10 years ago for my sons boy scouts , it won 2 heats , we have the ribbons framed

the adam petty car , i built after adams death, i could not find decals so it is hand painted. hope you enjoy.

Cool models! I restored this old AMT kit about 20 years ago. It is a 60 I think. I have a 62 Valiant by a company named Premier in 1/32 scale. It is a 4 door. I converted it to a slot car. I will get some pics of it soon.

thanks for the kind words... my nephew found a 67 Fury two door hard top at a garage sale this summer and redid it. It's his first attempt at models since he was a younger lad. He got me started back on the models.

That truck looks cool GoDartGo! I made a clunker out of one of those too.I stretched the chassis, and scratch built the box.

Neat car! I looked up "Premier" couldn't find a 62 valiant. It's a low priority, but if I found one or two for cheap, I'd get them and see if someone could build them for me as before and after.

your models are starting to put mine to shame, i am getting a 64 petty plymouth which i am going to put a twist on and make a dirt track car , give me a couple of weeks to post it

Here is one I built, a Petty "kit car" dodge dart, I like building full size and 1/25 scale.....

Thanks for the comments guys! How about a Johan Super Bird kit. I opened up the wheel openings, and painted it with Chrysler engine blue engine paint, as Petty blue paint was not available at the time.

Cool Chrysler! Here's another Petty car. It is a Lindberg kit and is painted with Testor's Petty Blue. The display stand is made by AMT.
