1971 Duster, factory leaning tower of power car. Standard grill. I have a 340 grill for the car but I cannot get it to fit. It seems to be hitting the underside of what I call the valance pan (goes from fender to fender, bolts to hood latch support)
I do not know what I need to adjust. For some reason I am struggling with this. Ill add a pic. Not sure if u will be able to tell anything about it.
Standard grill fits fine.

are there tabs on the bottom of the grille that should slide into the panel?

id just put something under the panel so it doesnt get bent and try to shove it down. wish i could find another sharktooth grille

That's the kind of sharktooth grill that doesn't fit anything....You need to pack it up and ship it to me and I will dispose of it properly.....LOL

Are you trying to install it with the "valence panel" in place already? If so, try removing the panel and dropping the grill into the lower panel and see if the top panel doesn't fit ok then.

If I put the plastic tabs on top, under the the pan, it fits perfect. I know the standard grill tabs go above the pan but the sharks tooth will not fit like that.

I've got a lot more pics I took this eve. I don't have good enough signal to post them. I will try in the morn at work.

I've not installed a Duster grill of any flavor before, but I'd take a break from this frustration and shoot the core-support blackout while it's out.

Can you post a pic with the hood up and show where the interferance is?

Success. Bent hood latch support. Had everything out of wack. A 2x4 across the core support and a lil man power, fixed.
