I am curious how can you gauge the thickness of sheetmetal? Also any idea what gauge would be used for the skin of the hood? 65 Barracuda?

The exterior skins: hoods, roofs, trunk lids etc.. are 20 guage which = 0.036" . The inner structures of hoods, trunks, doors are a little thicker usually 19 guage which is 0.041" . You can measure sheetmetal thickness with a caliper or micrometer if you have one or buy the eastwood tool.
