I am trying to remove the shift lever. It is a column shift and the pin that holds the lever to the column wound budge. What is the proper way to remove?

Thanks,

Might soak it down with P B Blaster and let it set for a day.
Then take a small flat bottom punch and knock it out.

I just did that to my '67...came out with no problems.
