I have a line on 2 - 8 3/4 shock plates for $20.00 each. both have surface rust (scale) no big pitting though. Down side is one has a broken thread. I assume I can get a replacement perch and weld it in place. I was thinking about another repair. Drill the end of the shaft and tap it. Install a stud with permanent locktite. Not sure if there is enough meat to do this but it seems like a possibility.

What do you all think.

cut the stockers off an weld on two shoulder bolts of the right size

These will work.
