I want a new motor.

Should I go with the MOPAR crate 408 or stay away from it?

any comments?

Personally,i'd stay away from ANY crate motor,pick out the components you want, and have a machine shop you can trust build you a nice stroker,that way you know what went in and who built it..

I remember reading some place, wether if it was this site or another that if you buy the crate motor you might want to disasseble and clean it out real good, that it isnt clean enough from the build.

if you have a machine shop do the work, also make sure it is cleaned really good before you assemble it. I use hot soapy water, blow it out with shop air and spray with wd40, so you dont get flash rust. brake clean tends not to get rid of the metal and grit from machining as well as hot soapy water.
