69 fish...
Ah Ma Snart...I see you found pics of my red '69 'cuda 440 and posted them for others to enjoy. I have visited your thread for some time now and was hoping that my car would show up since I was too lazy to post them myself. She has been my passion for the last thirteen years. I bought her from the second owner in 1999 and took five years to restore her to look like the day she rolled off the assembly line. During the restoration I came to be friends with the original owner and we visited regularly over the phone. In 2004 I brought her to the very first Mopars at the Strip in Las Vegas where the original owner lives. He cried when he saw her, said she looked like the day he bought her. He got to drive her some and I saw the love in his eyes for this car just like the love that I have acquired for her. BTW, she won first place in her class and best of show in the a-bodies at that show. She sits covered up in storage most of the time now. Each time I think about selling her I will get her out, put on some 1969 Keystone Klassic Mags with modern radial tires and feel what these cars were built to do. There are some beautiful and fast second generation barracudas on this thread, but for me these 1969 m-code 'cudas are the ultimate (but I may be a little prejudiced). Wow! You have one beautiful car! I was trolling the other day and came across your sweet car somewhere in cyberspace. I had no idea it was a FABO member car.
Very nice restro indeed. Very nice! Also a cool story about reuniting the original owner. I imagine that the car is a handful on the street, a fun handful! LOL!
BTW - What red is the car painted?
Love to see some pictures of it with the Keystones if you have them, or any other pics.

It's R4 red and has several names like barracuda orange, performance red, and charger red. According to Norm Ver Hage (tech advisor to the barracuda owners club) it was a new color introduced the the spring of 1969. The original spare tire and wheel was in the trunk of my car and the painter was able to match it perfectly to when the car was brand new. I say it is in between red and orange.

That looks so much different (And Great!!). 2nd gen fish look sooo good with the five spoke wheels of the day.
They also look great with modern the five spokes. Like this next 69 fish. It is also painted Barracuda Orange according to the bill of sale...

Hey Jess, we talked some back in '04 when you brought the car to Carlisle for Tom's M-code gathering. After that i took over his registry and did the reunion in '09 at Carlisle but you couldn't make it. Don't forget we are doing a 45th year M-code A-body reunion at Carlisle in July 2014!!!!!!! We had 16 cars show up for '09, which i'm VERY sure was the largest ever gathering of M-code A-bodies anywhere in the country to date. We are hoping for many more in 2014, hopefully you might want to come again!!!
