Hi everyone.Im sure that not all of us just own Classic Mopars.I know some of us also own classic Ford,GMs,AMCs,etc.
This one is my 74 Impala.I bought this car in 1996 from a 90 year old lady who was selling it because she was going blind for $1500. She bought it brand new in 1974 and It saw the garage most of its life. The 400 CID Sb 2 barrel had only 64,000 original miles on it when I bought it.It has power windows, tilt steering,Still has the original AM-FM radio which still works(I had a CD changer with FM modulator hooked to it)factory air conditioning which blew very cold air when i bought it,rear window defogger, disc brakes, cruise control. The car even smelled new.I drove this car until I had to park it in 2000 due to a tranny leak(which I just fixed this past weekend) and the carb wearing out and it costed too much to gas it up,but it was my daily driver until i parked it and out of those years ,it only gave me minor problems, such as the ignition module, alternator, thermostat, and a broken belt and just regular maintenence like plugs, plug wires, distributor cap,air cleaner. The car sat for a year until just last weekend I put fuel in it,pumped it and it started right up.Right now,it has over 170,000 miles and Im deciding whether or not to sell it to fund my Duster build,or keep it,as it has alot of sentimental value.Mopar,or not,it was a very good and reliable car

haha,i hear you.But when I saw how such great shape the Impala was,I just had to buy it.It was too good to pass up and I have no regrets to this day of buying it.If I do decide to sell it,hopefully it will be to someone that will fix it up nice.:-D

Well about the only thing that doesn't fit on this site is my truck which I am madly in love with, and since you havn't had a whole lot of bites on the post maybe just adding another post will help you lol....besides i'll take any opportunity to show my baby off, even if its unwarranted 8)

have to admit i love those old 67-68 firebirds, much more personality and better looking than the cameros IMHO

Sweet 'bird there, Relaxer...
Here is our non-Mopar. I bought it when I was a kid, gave it away a couple years ago...

I don't have pics of my F250, but here's one that Pop and I work on together, when the occasion allows.

1032.JPG

It's really Pop's, but I get my hands dirty on it, too. '54 Ford Crestline 4 door. Ford's first OHV V8, 239, 3 on the tree overdrive. Converted to 12V, but still positive ground. The rust you see is all surface, no rust through. Originally a TX car.

Here is my non-mopar classic. It's a 75' Pontiac Trans Am with a 6.6L v-8 (400 sbc), 350 turbo trans, fueled by a 750 street avenger Holly and exhaling through 3" true dual exhausts. Needs a little work, but I wouldn't want to drive it if it didn't.

I also have the 03' Mustang GT with only 37k on it.

The 97' Jimmy in the background is my winter ride and needs some front end work. I just have too many projects right now, so it can wait.

Lastly, the Scamp would be very upset if I didn't give her a shout out. She's my fave since "technically" speaking the Trans Am is my wifey's. We got her to keep my car company in the barn.

Sweet Trans Am bkbond12, And nice Cougar 684, you never see a Cougar around anywhere anymore, i always wanted a 70. And a 74-75 Trans Am.

If i wasnt a MoPar guy i would be a Pontiac guy, the come in second in engine/car "brutalness". Strange how some people lump the BOP cars in with Chevys, when they were really totally seperate until, what 77?

Here's my lot :-D

Thanks. I like how the TA used the round headlights, and although I can appreciate the dual squares they used in 1977, I prefer the rounds. The Camaro used the rounds until 1981. The only drawback to the 75's is that they started putting emission controls on the car and mine would have only been putting out 185hp.

Our (meaning her's) non-Mopar is very similar to one of Rob's.

Bought the wife a 1965 Buick Riviera. Not like I had a choice. Had to be a '65. Nope, a '64 or a '66 just wouldn't do. Women :angry7:.

But at least it is a stylish car. Gorgeous lines, and it has the clamshell hide-away headlights. Now I just have to get them working. This thing has power-everything, even the vent windows are powered.

Oh, and it need quarters. Anyone know where to find them?

It'll look great once the body and paint are done. Nice Seafoam green interior and a teal body.

Wow. some nice non Mopar rides you guys have. Deep down I'm a GM guy but I like em all if they are cool.

I'd take a first gen F-bird over a Camaro any day.

I love early Cougars and still want to kick my own *** when I passed on a mint 68 XR-7 390 car totally optioned out in 1977 that was traded in on a new 78 Honda Accord by an old couple that bought it new.

64-66 Rivi's were one of the nicest body styles to come out of Detroit, bar none.

Here's a couple of my past rides/projects.

Nothing special, 69 long box lowered with a warmed over 350/T400, and 4:10 gears.

A project car I bought in 2000 but had to sell due to some finacial difficulties a few years back. I miss this one the most.

My daily driver from 1989 to 2000. It went 80 miles every day through rush hour traffic, averaged 20 MPG's, and got beat on every second weekend on the quarte mile. Consistant 15:8's at 85 MPH all day long. Bone stock 350 Olds/T350 combo rated at a whopping 160 HP. Best damn car I ever had. Sold it to buy the 55.

I've had a bunch of Chevelles and Beaumonts too but no pics of those. New to Mopar with my 65 Barracuda project but I do like this little car. I hope I get it on the road soon.

Only non-mopar i own is the daily driver Ford truck that also tows my duster..
