single/dual quad set up

ok so i was wondering if most people say that a 650cfm carb is plenty for a 318ci and is alot for a 273ci .then why is it when poking around that looking at a lot of old engine pictures and this and that i have seen alot of 273 with dual quads. what is then gain/effect . what is the point of running 2 smaller carb versus one big one

Just my opinion the 2x4's has the look and that is what I did on my old Challenger... I have the factory 4 barrel setup still, along with a factory 6 pack set up that I have run in the past... But I chose to put a factory 2x4 police interceptor set up on from the old 413 and have run that for over 20 years.. When raizing the hood people don't expect the 2x4's on the 440 and it has the wow's em factor... onecatnodog

so its just for looks.............and it does hurt the performance and reliability
