Single speed wiper pausing mid-cycle

With the recent rain in the bay area I was reminded that my wipers only sort of work. Patient is my '65 Dart with single speed wipers. They always park correctly, no matter when the switch is turned off. First wipe of the day almost always goes smoothly. After that they will stop mid-cycle for up to 30 seconds, then continue. Sometimes there is another pause before they complete, sometimes not. I'm assuming it is an electrical issue rather than a linkage issue since the pause location is randomized and there are zero slowdowns or jitters when the wipers are moving. Suggest away, experts! Bad park cam in the wiper motor or a dead spot in the armature. Replace the motor.

I just had this happen on one of my Belvedere's, the ground strap was cracked at the top and only made contact intermittently.

Good call. As always grounding should have been the first thing I checked.
