I am in the process of rebuilding a 1962 225 aluminum slant 6 and wanting to upgrade the cam slightly for improved performance. What would be a good cam for street use that idles smooth? The block has been bored to 30 with no mods to the head. I plan on adding a 4 bbl. & headers. Would I need to change the stock solid lifters, push rods, rockers, valves, etc. with this upgrade? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are some good threads out there on aluminum 225 buildup. This one and this one are especially good, with tons of pics and descriptive text. Resist the urge to increase compression. You don't need to change the lifters, pushrods, or rockers. You may want bigger valves. See here for cams, and see here for slant-6 speed parts source recommendations (for and against).
