I have this intake manifold which I believe is a Lynx that currently has 3 1.5 SU carbs on it. I’m trying to figure out if that was what was originally was supposed to be bolted onto it. Has a homemade aluminum plate since the bolt holes don’t line up on the carbs. Any input would be appreciated.

lynx generally use webers-- at least the ones i've seen on jags and beemers

neat piece!

weird. because that appears to be set up for SU carb pattern. or a dell DC series with an wye a-dapt-or

if i had to guess, SU H4? (that's what i've seen on jags i worked on) and they made the plate to adapt "S series" 4's or 6's because newer, more common, more parts availability.

i don't have a ton of granular knowledge on those manifolds or the differences in the SU series, so take what i'm saying with a grain of salt. but that's just what it looks like and what would make sense to me.

Yeah those are bigger SUs than what that intake was designed for I believe. They're purdy big.

Looks like a copycat of a Lynx intake. The Lynx ones have LYNX and VALIANT cast into the front and rear reliefs; this one has only [blank] and VALIANT. Also, the more I look at these pics of the Lynx triple-SU Slant-6 intake I used to have, the more differences I see to the one in question:

Also, those carburetors look questionable; that's not a stock SU upper housing on 'em.

Looking at the one I have, it seems that the person that had it before me ground off the Lynx casting in it. It does appear it would have originally used the H4 SU carbs.

I'd almost sell a body part for that.
