Does anybody remember a vendor selling a low tension spring for the early side covers? It was said to be used with a slick shift trans. Thanks!Bob

I'm pretty sure there is no "slickshift" side cover spring. It would serve no purpose, since the effort required to shift a slickshift is much firmer than a normal transmission. There is no detent because there are no sprung keys in the hub. The hub just has straight splines, so the fork just slides back and forth freely. The only detent is from the side cover, and that is very useful. A low tension spring would just make that more sloppy, and under hard shifting it might just drop the balls out....

okay,I'll go along with that.I should have said "street" slick shift.the dogs and rings stay in but every third tooth on the slider is removed(at least I think that was the description).maybe this part is not as critical to smooth or ease of operation.Bob
