I've installed my driveshaft, ignoring a question I had...but before I put this car in the road, I figure I'll ask...better late than never.
I noticed there was a keyway on the slip yoke splines...but couldn't see or feel one on the trans output (if that's the correct terminology).. I just turned the yoke till it slid in and called it good... So, what is the purpose of the keyway, if there's not one on the output shaft..?

That’s a blank spline .
I’m not sure what it’s for,,,,,,Huuuummmm .
Let me guess,,,,,maybe a channel to keep the yoke from acting with a vacuum on the shaft ?
So the driveshaft can move in and out freely during the arc of the rearend travel ?

Nahhhh .

I’m not sure either really .
