I want to tighten up my steering in my 64 dart.

can I just tighten the screw on the top of the box or do I need to rebuild ?

thanks

how old are the bushings , just changed mine and slop is gone . Rubber was worn through on some spots deformed in others , replaced with poly bushings and it is a different car . All that worn rubber will introduce a lot of play in the wheel
You can go the firm feel route if the box is shot and busdhings are good

When we did my son-in-laws we loosened the nut then while he was moving the steering wheel back and forth I tightend down the screw some. I tightend the nut back down and we went for a short ride to see if there was any improvment.

Was there ?
