Re: 72 Demon 340 thermoquad
After setting 4 days the engine takes quite a bit of cranking to start. Obviously needs to get fuel to the carburetor. Just setting throughout a day it will start right up. Can the fuel evaporate from the carburetor that quickly? I have a vapor canister and an inline fuel check valve. It has been fairly warm here lately ( near 100') but the car has been in my shop. Do not see any leaks or smell file vapors. If this is not normal your ideas are welcome.

Common as can be with todays fuels and mechanical pumps.
Also have to remember that it was hot when it was parked, so that starts the evap process fairly quick.
This is exactly one of the reasons I run electric.

I run a mr gasket electric pump just forward of the tank in line to the mechanic pump. Solved that problem.
