Hey guys, will a big block damper work on a small block? Both engines are forged crank. I have a big block fluid damper laying around, and was wondering if I could use it on a 340?

The depth of the hub is different, SBM is about 2.470 long and the BBM is about 1.830 long.
That would depend on the timing marks, key way location, depth of the hub, in my opinion, no.

Yes you can. Depending on the damper and where you decide to put your timing marker and required depth. Yes it is indexed differently but there is no phasing in a neutral balance balancer.
