Small block demand?

Yeah. I'll see if anyone wants it when I pull it. If not oh well.
Block could bore out past the pitting, might even make 4.040 or at least 4.00 , 4" crank and you got something. I don't see ford guys scraping 302 fords like this.

If you scrap it, you'll probably be scrapping lots of usable parts. Chances are if you tore the motor down you could pick some good stuff from it to use on future engines. Or sell the parts to help pay for a new motor.
Possibly, I'll look more into why it won't turn over when I get it out of the car. Will be easier to work on then.

Because Ford people like their fords... 289, 302, 351, you get the point.
State you have a 318 and your told you have to have a 360. Get a 360 and you have to make it a 408. Just look at post #24. Somebody said there could be useable parts for future projects, or to be sold. right away somebody drops a "disagree". Like a seagull, fly in, poop, and fly away. What? Nobody will want the rocker arms? Or Timing chain cover? Or valve covers? Or the crank? get the point?
This site is filled with seagulls .... :D

LOL seagulls!
Hopefully the new 408 will be internally balanced?
I'm just thinking of the converter or flexplate? I'm not sure on an automatic because I don't have one being externally or internally balanced on your transmission which also if that's the original transmission and you're about to put a 4o8 in front of it this is something that might want to come out and be looked at also? My2

Oh yes. Definitely going to have the 904 gone through to handle the power. Also have a 727 but I am not to fond on using is, heavier and doesn't shift as fast as the 904.

To each their own, but I recently sold a long block 318 that had been sitting for 10 years, locked up (all disclosed) and I was given $300 for it. The message here is that you never know what people will do with it or what its worth to them. In my case, it was in my way and now I have that cash to spend on something else that will take up more space - oh ya, already did that.
