Trying to clean things up in the engine compartment, I like stainless steel fasteners and at the minimum Id like the nuts and bolts to have some sort of consistency in size.

I decided Id change out the various sized nuts that held carb down, this adapter was broken, not sure the principal behind it as far as how it was supposed to be secured.

The way I took it apart the small nut that Im holding went down in the hole, the assy slid over studs coming out of the manifold and then different nuts tightened down on these studs on top of the free nuts.

Cant understand the mentality of this?

Regardless the plate is broken, anyone recognize it? Hoping I can get it still. As you can see the whole assy then sits on top of a spacer.

I would throw that adapter and 2 barrel carb in the trash and get you a nice 4 barrel to run. you have spacers everywhere.

The carb has been heavily modified. Lots of time and money in the carb. It runs strong

no offence, but that whole set up is cobbled together (just look at that nut still attached to the steel fuel line where it goes to the rubber hose that goes to the fuel pressure gauge block)

if you insist on running this carb, I would suggest swapping out the intake to a 2 barrel one, that will make it look a whole lot cleaner
(I'm sure you could trade that weiand intake for a 2 barrel on heads up)

Just get another adapter plate. Trans Dapt still makes them. Summit has them all day long.

I agree and no offense taken, it is cobbled up, Ill straighten it out

The "mentality" was simple, not necessarily good. That adaptor was probably made to either from 2bbl carb to 4bbl manifold like yours, or reversed, 4bbl carb to 2bbl manifold. When using it that way, the huts would go in those outer holes and the studs would screw into them.

I agree^^ Buy a better adaptor or go to a 4bbl.
