1970 Dart Swinger 340, factory hood here. I have an Edelbrock AVS2 sitting on an LD340 manifold using the factory air cleaner, was thinking about getting an airgap manifold using the same carb and air cleaner and was wondering about hood clearance due to the extra height of the manifold. Has anyone else used this combination without issues? Or know how much the airgap would raise the air cleaner so I could do some calculations?
Thanks FABO

Yes.

Mine fits fine with the stock '70 air cleaner. I'm also running the Edelbrock AVS2 carb. I haven't figured out exactly how much clearance I have but I need to as I would like to run a phenolic spacer.

Although my car is a Duster I have an air gap intake, originally holley dp, but FiTech efi now, at least a 1" spacer with factory '69 air cleaner and it all clears the factory hood. Hope this helps.

Thought we were talking air gap.

Close your hood, as is, with a big ball of tinfoil on the highest point of the air cleaner.
