Hello all, id like to test run a 5.2 Magnum motor outside the car, last year i did it with my 904 but thats in the car now, so ive seen this starter plate but the seller wont ship to europe.

Does anyone maybe have one of these and could give me the measurements so i can make my own?

I'll bet a smart fella could make one of those themselves.

How about someone here Stateside buy one from ebay, then ship it to you internationally by UPS?

Or someone here buy one, then trace around it on a piece of paper with measurements and mail that to you. Or simpler yet take a picture of it to size, then put that into a .pdf file and email that to you as an attachment.

Those would be handy to have around, just need a 130 tooth flywheel.

Same seller here on ebay:

Take this image here and expand it up (like Microsoft Paint program) to the exact size where the mopar mini starter fits the starter holes on the bracket picture.

Then print that out to cut out your pattern.

Then you will have an exact pattern in the right proportions (template) to make your own bracket.

Here is a question for you.

What is the exact measurement of the 2 starter bolt holes on the mopar mini starter, center to center?

You might use a copy machine to enlarge until the starter bolts line up.

Good Idea

Working on the sizing now. Came up with 3 11/16" center to center, printed it out on 8.5 x 11 paper.

Probably needs some size adjustment yet. I could go to the parts store and get the correct measurement off a new mini starter.

Unless someone here on FABO can get me that measurement?

Went out to the '89 D100 318 with the caliper to measure bolt centers on starter.

4" on Center

Now to work on the bracket pattern template.

Cut it out of the thick paper and punch mark the holes.

Good to Go...

That was a really good idea and good work thank you!
Because the paper sizes in europe are different i might have to try a few times with printing, but i do know our printers can print us letter format (8.5x11in) aswell.
I do have a spare mini starter lying around so ill give a go tomorrow!

Thank you!

That bracket is nice.

After going through what we did to come up with that bracket template >

Think if a person was in a pinch and in a hurry, they could have pulled the Starter Plate pattern off the bell housing of a 904, there at a person's location.

Like make it out of 1/2 Aluminum Stock... easy cutting and drilling.

Or cut that section out of a junk 904 case. Then you get the nose cone support with it...
